Selling Mediocre Content (for mediocre returns)

I would imagine that just about every enterprising webmaster has considering outsourcing content creation as a business model. OrderArticlesNow.com is one example out of the 7 zillion content writing businesses that typically last for about 3 months on the web.

If you know where to look you can most likely lock down a half decent writer for about $3.00 per300 word article. The hardest part is usually just finding one that can write a coherent sentence in English. What we see here is someone making a few hundred extra dollars per month by charging 5 dollars for something that costs them 3 dollars. However, once you factor in their PPC costs they probably aren’t even justifying the time it takes them to take orders and pass them on to the writer.

It generally doesn’t take people long to figure out that this business model…. sucks.

Selling Weight Loss Products for Tens of Thousands per month

I typically skip over any site that looks like it might have anything at all to do with the Acai Berry or any derivative thereof. However, some intelligent group of folks decided they would just go ahead and make their own weight loss offer. Using media buys, affiliate networks, emailing and ppc, Maquickslim.com generated monthly revenues of about $35,000.00. Pushing their own labeled weight loss product they were able to net out profits of about $16,000.00 per month.

I believe that the FDA may have changed the laws recently regarding weight loss products (AKA diet supplements), but in the past you never needed FDA clearance on basic herbal supplements. This loophole allows for just about anyone to create their own diet supplements without having to go through a lengthy governmental approval process. Combine that drive with affiliate and CPA know-how and you have a full fledge retail outfit on your hands.

Making Money from Fiverr

If you’re not familiar with Fiverr you should definitely check it out. Fiverr let’s people buy and sell services for a flat fee of $5. It’s been incredibly popular, so of course someone should make an info product about it. MoneyFromFiverr.com makes about $200 per month selling an eBook that purports to show others how to make money on Fiverr. Sometimes I am amazed at the worthless infoproducts that people will pay for.
