I don't use the date in my blog post URLs so I never noticed this before. Very interesting. I think I'll stick to using the title words.

Comment on Adsense Category Filters by Joseph E Howard

One of the things I hate about Google Adsense is they give you tons of useful information on how something works, but they never simply say how to access the "tool" the information is written for.

Looking for "where to start" -- in other words, accessing the "Adsense Category Filter" tool is a task within its self. Getting information on how to use it is E-A-S-Y! But, try and find that damn thing....

So, for those of us who can't figure out where it's at, here is the map:

1) go to your Adsense account
2)Click on the "Adsense Set-up" Tab.
3)Now displaying is the blue-field called "Get Ads."
4)The forth-link over from "Get Ads" is the Competitive Ad Filter

Did Google help me find this? Absolutely not! I just kept clicking tabs till I found it.

There's a company here in the Portland (OR) area that sends out advertising, coupons, discounts, and offers -- from local merchants -- on a CD.

Although, I've never actually looked at one -- I throw them away (my loss) -- I would imagine the CD, more than likely, links back to ??? -- possibly a central website where folks can browse?

We all know what a CD costs to make. So, the out of pocket costs are extremely small, and the rewards to its producer? Probably real good.

If the URL changes every time an update is done is it best to do nothing regarding tracking URL Channels, or should the old URL be deleted and the new URL be added to the URL tracking??

I've had the feeling from just reading as to how Google does page-rank that the length-of-time an article is posted adds to the overall formula for page ranking. Is this true?

Or, is it best not to update anything, do the update as a completely separate post and link to the original article?
